Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Foambid (“Foambid,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Foambid app and website. By using Foambid, you agree to the practices described below.

1) Introduction

Foambid is an estimating tool for spray-foam insulation professionals. You can use core features without creating an account. Account-based features (for example, Saved Foambids) require sign-in. We collect only the data necessary to provide these features and to improve reliability.

2) What We Collect

Account & Profile. Name, email address, business name (if provided), and authentication identifiers (via Firebase Authentication).
Project Data (“Saved Foambids”). Structure measurements and selections, foam products and thicknesses, pricing inputs, labor/coating/expense entries, estimate outputs (e.g., board feet, costs, margins), timestamps.
Local Defaults & Preferences. Product selections, yields, pricing defaults, labor defaults, coating settings, and similar preferences stored on your device (e.g., AppStorage/UserDefaults).
Diagnostics & Analytics. App usage events (e.g., screen views), performance metrics, and crash reports (device/OS, app version, timestamps, limited context) via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics.
Embedded Media. When viewing Tutorials, embedded YouTube videos may collect standard device/network data under Google/YouTube policies.

3) How We Use Data

We use information to:

  • Provide core functionality (estimate creation, on-device defaults, account sign-in for cloud features like Saved Foambids).

  • Remember your defaults so project setup is faster.

  • Improve reliability and quality (diagnose crashes, measure feature usage, guide UX improvements).

  • Maintain security and prevent abuse.

  • Data minimization. We request and use only data needed for Foambid’s features and prefer system pickers/share sheets rather than broad permissions whenever possible.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not include third-party advertising SDKs.

4) Where Data Is Stored

  • On your device. Local defaults and certain preferences are stored on-device.

  • In the cloud. Saved projects and basic profile fields may be stored in Google Firebase services (e.g., Firestore, Authentication).

  • Diagnostics. Usage/performance/crash information is processed by Firebase services.

5) Third-Party Services

Foambid uses:

  • Firebase Authentication (account sign-in)

  • Firestore (cloud storage of saved projects)

  • Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (diagnostics)

  • YouTube (embedded tutorials)

These third parties commit to provide the same or stronger protections for user data as described in this policy and as required by Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines. Please review their privacy documentation for details.

6) Data Retention

  • Saved projects. Retained while your account exists or until you delete them. When you delete your account in-app, associated cloud data is scheduled for prompt deletion from our systems.

  • Diagnostics. Retained by Firebase according to their default retention schedules.

  • Local defaults. Remain on your device until you clear them, delete app data, or uninstall the app.

7) Your Choices & Controls

  • Use Without an Account. You can fully create and price estimates without sign-in. Sign-in is required only for account-based features such as Saved Foambids (cloud sync/backup).

  • Delete Account & Data (in-app). To permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data, open Settings → App Settings → Delete Account & Data in the app.

  • Delete Local Data (in-app). To remove on-device defaults and caches, use Settings → App Settings → Delete Saved Data.

  • Edit Profile Info. Update name, email, or business name under Settings.

  • Export/Access. You may copy project details in-app; contact us for additional access or export requests.

  • Analytics & Crash Reports (in-app). Control diagnostics via Settings → App Settings. You can turn Analytics and/or Crash Reports off at any time; core functionality does not require these.

  • Social Sign-In Revocation. If you signed in with a social provider (e.g., Google or Apple), you can disconnect credentials in-app (Sign out/Disconnect). You may also revoke access through the provider’s account settings.

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your credentials confidential and sign out on shared devices.

9) Children’s Privacy

Foambid is intended for professional/business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe we collected such data, contact us to request deletion.

10) International Users

Data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where Firebase or its subprocessors operate. Local laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The latest version is available in the app and on this page.
